AWS Dev Associate certification preparation has reached its peak phase. This week I have done two mock exams, with three more to go. I have dedicated some quality time to reading and watching materials about specific AWS concepts. Frankly speaking, I experience typical Krugger-Dunning effect – the more I know, the less confident I feel 😉 AWS is a huge ecosystem, with almost endless possibilities for specialisation. I love it 😉
To balance it somehow I went towards KCNA. I have read “Kubernetes and Cloud Native Associate Study Guide” by Sanchez&Dimenez (quick read, nothing fancy to be honest). More important knowledge source in this area is an online course by James Spurin. Here I got some more content, and I am going through it on the steady pace.
I have also finished reading “Systems Design Interview part 1”, and purchased part 2 right away. I have a feeling, that the second part is better redacted, and contains more in-depth chapters, which is great. Of course I plan to post a review of both parts after I’m done with a lecture.
Day by day list
- 22-07-2024: Flashcards are getting managable. Which means it takes me around one hour now to go through them, which is nice. The day also filled with lots of reading about AWS stuff. There were remaining materials that I have not finished during the weekend. In order not to get out-of-shape I have started KCNA preparation with book “Kubernetes and Cloud Native Associate Study Guide” by Sanchez&Dimenez. Finished the day with “Systems Design Interview part 1” book.
- 23-07-2024: ANKI for the win 😉 I got a busy day, so just concentrated on leisure-reading “Systems Design Interview part 1” book.
- 24-07-2024: ANKI. I have finished “Kubernetes and Cloud Native Associate Study Guide” book, and added next 2 chapters from “Systems Design Interview part 1”
- 25-07-2024: ANKI. Tested with mock exam for AWS Dev cert, which I have failed unfortunately. Couple of reasons for that, although I was quite satisfied with the level of my knowledge. Spent the rest of the day researching topics that I failed with, and finished with one chapter from “Systems Design Interview part 1”
- 26-07-2024: ANKI. Finished “Systems Design Interview part 1”, and started a second part. I have also kicked off CNCF KCNA certification course by James Spurin.
- 27-07-2024: ANKI – the amount of cards increased again 😉 Continued with KCNA course, but not that much. As every weekend I have spend some time catching up with all the newsletters, RSS feeds, etc.
- 28-07-2024: ANKI. I did kind-of another mock test for the AWS certification. Unfortunately, it was of low-quality and a little outdated. Of course I created some additional ANKI flashcards, but I am feeling disappointed. To finish the day with more positive outcome I have continued with KCNA certification course.
