Monthly summary #1 – June 2024
Usually it is the beginning of the year, where some kind of new-year-new-me kind of vibe hits everyone around. I can say that I am not following the crowd on this one. I am starting something new in the middle of the year. Because why not? This is my first monthly summary then. Let’s go!

The overall idea for this blog, and my project #SeniorDevRevamp is described in the linked articles. Therefore, I won’t be repeating myself here. What I want to share is the lovely vibe I get from following this path. Structured learning of the things that “I know that I know them, but…” feeds not only my impostor syndrome, but also all my Clifton Strengths talents (“Learner” is my #2). I started small, with AWS Cloud Practitioner certification, and with it, I have collected some low hanging fruits. It was a wise decision. Passing the cert gave me a boost to push forward for sure.
Except for AWS, and cloud-related topics (I have done a beginner-oriented Kubernetes course on UDEMY), I stepped a little into Python, which serves a glue-language today. It is not that hard to read it, as it shares some similarities with PHP that I had started my career with. Obviously, there is a difference between reading the language, and writing idiomatic code in it. That was the reason for reading an introductory book about the language, and doing some simple coding katas online. I stopped after a couple of weeks, when I had some practice under my belt. It is way too little for me to be satisfied, but first steps were made. I plan to come back to Python coding in some time, with the actual coding project.
What’s next?
That wraps-up June 2024. Below you can find links to the specific weeks’ summaries. As a category, they are excluded from this blog’s RSS feed. That is on purpose – I don’t want to spam that often. Those summaries are mostly for myself. To keep a clear track of my progress, and to serve as a ‘virtual buddy’ that accompanies me along. The plan for July is to continue with AWS training, and also to read some architecture/cloud oriented books.
