However, before I’ve started hard with AWS, I have concluded Kubernetes refresher course. I have also worked my way through Kafka one. Both of course ended with a lot of created flashcards, and knowledge gained. Spend some time with Python. However, after I’ve reached 6 kyu on CodeWars I have decided to stop. For the time being I’m sure I will be able to at least understand Python when I see it. Unfortnately, for me to get more in-depth knowledge and proficiency in it, I plan to do something else in the future. And yes, it will be (as usual with me) roguelike related 😉
After all that I came back to AWS – started preparation course for AWS Dev Associate certification exam. The course on UDEMY is over 30 hours long, and after a couple of days of hard work, I already have hundreds of flashcards created. I must confess – I really enjoy this learning process, and the fact that I have created sustainable learning routine gives me not only lots of motivation, but also huge amount of raw perserverence.
Obviously, not to limit myself only to one topic, I’m in parallel reading Martin Kleppmann book (again, this time with flashcards), and catching-up with lots of additional reads/watching/listening about recent developments in Java world. You may be surprised to hear, that all of this happened just in one week, and what is more – I got a cold in the process 😉 I’m better now, but had to slow down a little in the middle of the week, as with mild temperature and clogged nose, it was pretty hard to concentrate 😉 Below you’ll find day by day summary of the previous week.
Day by day list
- 01-07-2024: ANKI training as usual. Started a refresher course on UDEMY – Learn Apache Kafka 3.0 Ecosystem, Core Concepts, Real World Java Producers/Consumers & Big Data Architecture, where I have finished nine chapters. 30 minutes of CodeWars Python training, where I have reached 6 kyu overall. The last thing was to start re-reading (with ANKI and notes being made) of the legendary Designing Data-Intensive Applications by Martin Kleppmann – finished first two chapters.
- 02-07-2024:ANKI training as usual. Almost done with the Kafka course, I think one or two modules left. Python CodeWars training.
- 03-07-2024: ANKI training as usual. I have finished Kafka course on UDEMY. My every day piece of simple Python coding katas on CodeWars. Read 3rd chapter of the Kleppmann book (about storage solutions), and I have started next course on UDEMY – preparation for AWS Certified Developer Associate by Stephane Marek.
- 04-07-2024: ANKI as usual (quite a lot of them now). Continued UDEMY course for AWS, but it seems that I came down with some flu-like thing, so I had to stop after an hour.
- 05-07-2024: Felt a little better, so did ANKI flashcards as usual, and two next chapters from AWS Dev-Associate certification course.
- 06-07-2024: Almost cured, so heavy ANKI study, and another chapters from the UDEMY AWS course. Also I have read 4th chapter from Designing Data-Intensive Applications, and caught up with some recent Java-related Spring framework stuff (via YouTube videos).
- 07-07-2024: Every day ANKI session. Continued with AWS course – next 4 chapters (as they were shorter than previous ones). Finished also 5th chapter of Kleppmann’s book, and did some heavy catching-up with recent newsletters/podcasts/etc. in the Java area.
