ToggleOverall summary
I have started my holidays – trying to set a new FKT on the GSS2 trail (eastbound) in the polish mountains. Unfortunately – we got one of the most hardcore weather breakdown in recent years. There is snow falling, sudden floods, and really massive amount of rains. The only wise thing in that situation was to withdraw. It wasn’t about getting wet anymore, it was about pure survival. Therefore, I’ve packed myself and went back home.
Obviously I wasn’t able to do much with my #SeniorDevRevamp project while walking the mountains. However, on my way there I was able to finish “Fundamentals of Data Engineering” by Joe Reis, Matt Housley. You can expect a review soon. Whenever possible, I also did some ANKIs to not loose momentum and continue with spaced-repetition process. There wasn’t that many of them to go over, so I kept up with them despite the fatigue slowly building-up every day.
What’s next?
Today is my second day back (got something like 10 hours of sleep), and I am starting to think clearly and without fog-of-long-endurance-strain in my head (it’s a real thing, believe me, every ultra-runner will tell you stories about it). Part of getting back on track was writing this summary. I also plan (as it’s weekend) to spend some time catching up with the latest industry news/newsletters, and prepare some plan for the upcoming weeks.
