Weekly summary #10

Summary of the tenth week of my #SeniorDevRevamp project. Can’t believe how fast it went.

Overall summary

Last week I have posted a view from my living room in a small village of Argentiere, near Chamonix. It was sunny with a nice weather. Well, today it does not look that great anymore. I have moved to the village of Les Houches (opposite side of Chamonix), and it has been raining heavily since yesterday. Well, more time to learn 😉

Anyway, last week was slower than usual, that’s for sure. However, AWS Dev Associate certification preparation was still going on – ANKI all over, with additional lecture of all kinds of cheat-sheets. Every day I was able to add circa 7-15 new flashcards to my deck, so the job is ongoing. Two weeks remain for my AWS Dev Associate certification exam right now.

Except for AWS I enjoy myself with reading books. Maybe not that much technical (no flashcards/notes upon the lecture), despite the fact that the topics are technology-related. The one that I started and finished was “Developing Apps with GPT-4 and ChatGPT” (review will be published later). The second book I have chosen to read here is “97 things every cloud engineer should know”. It is divided into separate small chapters, so it is easier to read while on holiday. Nothing revolutionary there, just bits and pieces from different parts of the cloud ecosystem.

As usual during the weekend (which is right now) I am catching up with all the newsletters/feeds I subscribe to, so that’s also on my plate today. Anyway, way more pleasant thing than shopping with my wife in Chamonix that is scheduled for today ;(

That’s it for the summary. For the upcoming week the plan is simple – continue flashcards and AWS cheat-sheets, finish reading the book, and we will see if I will be able to squeeze anything more. The weather is supposed to be improve, so more walk, less talk 😉

Day by day list

• 12-08-2024: ANKI as usual. Continued reading “Developing Apps with GPT-4 and ChatGPT”. Cheat-sheets about AWS Dev cert all over.
• 13-08-2024: Actually my day was exactly the same as the previous one 😉
• 14-08-2024: Same today – although without reading about ChatGPT, as my wife stole my Kindle to read the last part of the “Dune” series ;(
• 15-08-2024: Flashcards as usual. I have finished cheat-sheets for AWS Dev Cert by digitalcloud.training page, and switched back to TutorialsDojo ones. I have managed to get my Kindle back, and therefore read another chapter from “Developing Apps with GPT-4 and ChatGPT”.
• 16-08-2024: Managed to only deal with ANKI today – we had a longer hike (up to 2800m attitude), and wasn’t in a shape to perform any kind of learning. I’m on vacation anyway so no biggie 😉
• 17-08-2024: Transfer day to the new location, but as it was raining got some serious work done. ANKI as usual, followed by reading and finishing “Developing Apps with GPT-4 and ChatGPT” book. Read some TutorialsDojo materials about AWS, and started (as every week) catch up with the latest newsletters/feeds/etc.
• 18-08-2024: Flashcards as usual. Continued with the regular, every-weekend catch up with the latest news. I have also started reading “97 things every cloud engineer should know”.
